Agree to Terms

I wish to apply for probationary membership / renew my membership of Brisbane Bushwalkers Club Inc. I agree to adopt the objectives of the Club namely:

1. To encourage, foster and maintain bushwalking and associated pastimes as activities for recreation and
2. To establish regard for the welfare, preservation and conservation of the natural environment and
3. To promote social interaction for members and
4. To acquire resources relative to bushwalking.

I agree to observe the Rules and By-laws laid down for members, including the Privacy policy and Bushwalker's Code, and Social Media Policy.

I declare that I am 18 years of age or older.

I understand that the club has public liability insurance of AU$20,000,000.

Acknowledgement of Risk and Obligations of Members

I acknowledge that when I am participating in any activity of the Brisbane Bushwalkers Club Inc, I am doing so as a volunteer in all aspects, and as such, I accept all responsibility for loss of property or bodily injury to me, however it may occur.

I acknowledge that my participation in club activities which are described to me by the activity leaders may expose me to hazards and risks that could lead to injury, illness or death or to loss or damage to my property. In particular, when participating in abseiling, scrambling, kayaking or above the snowline activities, I am aware that I may be exposed to additional hazards and risks that could lead to hypothermia and being in locations where evacuation for medical treatment may take hours or days.

I will make all reasonable effort to avoid or minimise these risks by only participating in activities within my capabilities, carrying food, water and equipment appropriate for the activity, and advising the leader if I am taking any medication or have any physical or other limitation that might affect my participation in the activity.

I will make every effort to remain with the rest of the party during the activity and advise the leader of any concerns I am having and I will comply with all reasonable instructions of club officers and the activity leader.

I have read and understand the above requirements.  I have considered the risks and I still wish to join the activities of the club.  I acknowledge that I will take responsibility for my own actions and that the payment of mymembership fee
and the digital submission of this acknowledgment of risk will be deemed as full acceptance and understanding of the above conditions.
